Terms of use

This is a reference site, not a legal adviser. It tells you what the instruments say; it cannot tell you what your particular notice means, and it does not try to. The sum you are asked to pay is set by the Traffic Police and only they can tell you what you owe.

HEDGE

Information, not advice

This site explains what published Singapore instruments say. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for the notice in front of you, and it cannot tell you how any provision applies to your circumstances.

What this site is

A reference site. Every figure on it is taken from a named provision of a named instrument — the Road Traffic Act 1961 and the Parking Places Act 1974 as revised, and the rules, notifications and orders made under them — and the provision is stated beside the figure so you can check it.

The amount you were asked to pay

This site does not state it, and cannot. Both Acts state a ceiling on a composition sum; neither states the sum offered. That figure is set administratively by the Traffic Police, and only the agency named on your own notice can tell you what you owe. Any figure presented elsewhere as “the fine” is either that administrative figure or a guess, and this site does not reproduce either as though it were law.

Scope

This site answers for Singapore, under the instruments it cites, as consolidated at the dates its provenance lines show. Where a provision’s own amendment marker carries no effective date, the period shown is floored to the revised edition’s consolidation date and labelled as floored — it is not a claim about when that provision changed.

Accuracy, and its current limits

The figures here follow the provisions cited beside them, and none of them has been through our final sign-off. Instruments are amended, and an amendment made recently may not be reflected here yet. Both limits are stated in the notice on every page rather than buried here, and you should treat the notice you received and the agency that issued it as authoritative over anything written here.

Liability

This site is provided as is. No liability is accepted for any decision taken on the basis of it. If you rely on a figure here for anything that matters, verify it against the provision cited beside it — the citation is there precisely so that you can.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, say so at [email protected] and name the provision. It will be checked against the instrument and corrected.

Changes

These terms were last revised on 10 August 2026. That is a different date from the content date in the footer of every page, and different again from the consolidation dates in the provenance line under each table — those are the ones that say how current a figure is.

Every figure is sourced to a named provision of a named instrument, with the citation beside it.
